Some years they have a candidate that's so far ahead of everyone that they 
can't possibly overlook him. I have a hard time seeing an MVP coming from a 
last place team (I simply don't buy any argument that without him, they'd 
have finished in AAA like one person said of Ripken after he won it a few 
years ago. They finished badly without him so how much lower could they go).
