subject: Low cps in Maximus

Hello Scott!
I am having a problem with Maximus and very low cps rate. For starters, let
me tell you that I am using Binkleyterm XR5 for OS/2, Maximus for OS/2 and a
USRobotics Dual Standard 33600 with X2 enabled for a modem and SIO for Comm
Driver.
When someone logs in using binkleyterm to pickup or deliver mail, and
connects at 28800 or 31200, they normally get downloads ranging from
3400-3600 cps. When a user logs in and goes to the bbs, they are getting
downloads using zmodem at the rate of 89-300 cps. When they type in chat mode
or leaving messages, the letters are not put on the screen in the normal
fashion, instead the first two letter will appear, then nothing for a little
while, then the rest of the sentence jumps up. I am being told by everyone
that they are getting terrible download numbers and are aborting the
downloads.
I called and had USRobotics call in and check out the modem (I have two of
them) and was told that the modem was operating satisfactorily. In addition,
I had the phone company come in and check to see if there was something wrong
with the lines (I had doubts as to this aspect as when binkleyterm was used I
was getting acceptable cps downloads) and they advised that everything was in
proper working order. Below is a copy of the spawnbbs.cmd file for your
perusal, I for one can't seem to figure out why people are getting such low
numbers, I can tell you that I logged onto the bbs from another computer
using another USRobotics Dual Standard 33600 with X2 enabled and got 400 cps
on a download. Perhaps it is something in my spawnbbs.cmd from which you can
ascertain what my problem is. If you need any other files just let me know
and I can send them here or email, if you give me an address. Thanks in
advance for your anticipated response.
