Hi Struther,
SM> Well, WHAT boats?... you know, there's a few of us back here in the

Well I'm primarily looking at Hunters because there're lots of them
at Granville Island, and because they make full use of their waterline
making them good boats for living aboard. Still trying to find out what
they're like as offshore cruising boats, but no one really seems to know.
I have heard of a few making passages from Vancouver to Mexico without any
problems, but will they take me to Hawai without breaking? :^) I've seen a
few other boats built by Cooper, but none of them seemed to shine in the
sunlight - especially in the engine compartment. Someone in Toronto
shipped their Nauticat 33 out here to sell... kinda worries me - does that
mean that prices on the west coast are much higher than even Toronto? I'll
have to check into this when I'm back in town... maybe I outta take a trip
to Florida!
The Spencer Sunstar 31 got sold last week - really was in great shape,
but just a tad too small to live aboard. I believe it went for about $34K.
There is definitely a year round market out here for used boats, but deals
are around for patient buyers. Keep on rootin' for me... if ya want to
sail when you're out this way :^)
Cheers,
