Hi, Paul. PE> FM> Thanks for the ref, Paul. AAMOI We (SHAW Stockbroking) are or are PE> FM> about to look into providing an Internet service. I will also PE> FM> activate my own account, probably put a modem on the machine at work, PE> FM> when I have totally got to the end of the problems alluded to in PE> FM> another communication and so have some time. PE> Does this mean the general public can ring your system and post PE> orders, without having to shell out the bucks for the internet? PE> It's a pretty obvious thing to do, if that's the case. I may do that. There are a couple of negatives, such as some of the points Rod mentioned about support, which are valid. I wouldn't want to spend *any* time on that, even less than you do to support TML. Plus software, eg do you just provide a BBS message service, or try and set up a nice screen like a web page? In which case the user needs to have the right software. Other points about 'know your client', and security (Paul Edwards says buy 10/- BHP, then the real Paul Edwards claims it wasn't him) also apply to the Internet, and are probably solvable. Anyway, if I do, if I go the BBS route, I'll seek your advice about suitable software. Regards, FIM. * * Man is the missing link between apes and human beings. @EOT: ---* Origin: Pedants Inc.
