I've installed SuSE 8.0, 8.1, 8.2, 9.0 & 9.1, and every Mandrake from 8.0 through the current 10.1, plus 7.1, and Corel 1.0, 1.1 & 1.2. Each and every one has gone on a multiboot OS/2 system, and each and every one of them either did or does have rw HPFS access. NONE had access by default, since none of the installers correctly write/wrote HPFS entries to /etc/fstab. But, one I corrected fstab, I have/had HPFS access on all of the above. The only kernel I ever compiled to create HPFS access missing from the stock kernel was RedHat 7.3. Redhat 5.1, 5.2, 6.1 & 6.2 also had HPFS in the default kernels. RedHat dropped it between 7.0 & 7.3 sometime. Those I currently have bootable with stock kernels and HPFS access are SuSE 8.1, 8.2, 9.0 & 9.1, RedHat 6.2, and Mandrake 7.1 & 10.1. The 8.2 is running 24/7 as of the last 33 days, 12 hours. -- "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..."
