synchronet has evolved into having an ideal community just by having it open.

it's because rob is a good project manager.  he takes people's feedback.
some people have great ideas. some people are great at testing and finding 
issues.  some people are good programmers.  some people are only good at 
fixing other people's code.   these reasons are why it has worked out so well 
for so long.
