Been there, done that.  The computer I'm replying with is a self
built SMP system.  But for the ~$350 for the Dell I couldn't pass
it up, if it works.  It will be used at a different site, not on my
present lan.  For the near term future I simply don't have the time
to get the parts (usually I shop eBay) although everything on my
present system except the HD's and CDRom, nic, & audio were
purchased brand spankin new.  I can't recall what the final price
for this system was, but I think it was probably just shy of $1000.
 That is 3x the cost of the Dell.  Of course, if the Dell doesn't
work then it's a moot point.  That is why I am asking to begin
with.  Seems from the replies I've received all will be well except
for the audio.
