Berkely,
I don't bother to lock my guns up, loaded or otherwise. I have chosen to
educate my children in safety, handling, and marksmanship, thereby
gun-proofing my children instead of childproofing my guns.
There is no mechanism, safe, trigger lock, etc. that can keep a halfway
precosious child from investigating something that has the air of enticing
mystery about it, so I have chosen to remove the mystery. My children have
only a healthy interest in firearms. Lockboxes only slow access in time of
need.
