Can you kindly remind me ? Sacre Bleu! Sure. Filename is MORE.COM. In Win98xx it is about 10KB in length. To see a large directory one screenful at a time, the command is dir |more This is also useful for finding "lost sheep" files. Say you think you have a pdf file of some manual or other document somewhere on your HDD, and you don't want to spend half your morning mousing around, you can look at all the pdf files on the whole HDD with one command - C:> dir *.pdf /s|more The /s switch tells it to look into all the directories and subdirectories. When you have as many pdf files on HDD as I have, there are way too many of them to show on one screenful. For a long readme, autoexec.bat, config.sys, textfile, *.inf file, etc. one screenful at a time the command is type |more In all cases, hit any key to scroll to the next screenful. - - - JimH. ...
