VN :>FREEZING! Oh, yeah, I forgot! That actually happens here
VN :>about every ten years or so...
MA> Aw shuddup, Vic! You're not going to do this to us all
MA> winter long again are you (g)?
Only until you guys move out here. Aerospace industry is BIG here, a
long row of machine shops next to the airport, about a five mile long row!
MA> First snow on the ground this a.m. Pretty! Rained and
MA> was cold/windy yesterday...went through 2 turnouts
MA> that got soaked with Ms. Fiddle before I finally took
MA> the da**ed things off and told her I wasn't going to go
MA> through another winter of washing/drying 2-3 blankets
MA> a day.
Turnouts? Are those blankets? How thick are they? Dub has (1.) a
cooling sheet, (2.) a light "blanket" - kind of a cotton thing, (3.) a duck
(canvas) blanket, and (4.) an expensive thick quilted blanket that Dean
bought him for Christmas last year. Are they like one of the above?
If she wants to be wet and cold all winter, so
MA> beit! Shiloh stays in when it's wet, and that's it!
MA> Fiddle has her door open, and, of course, prefers to
MA> stand out in the rain....stupid horse!!!
Lori's brother, Ralph, whose opinion I respect a lot, says that horses
do a lot better in the cold than they do in the heat.
I never did
MA> break her of her freaking out during storms in her
MA> stall, so we'll have to live with this, I guess.
I had an Airedale who freaked out in the house during storms; the vet
gave me tranquilizers for her. I don't know if that'd be a workable solution
for a horse, though...
MA> Is it spring yet?
I think so...flowers in bloom all over. It was 75 degrees
today...slightly cloudy, enough drizzling in the a.m. to annoy me into
washing the car tonight! ;)
