| subject: | Good week? |
There hasn't been a good week in politics in a while. I vowed to support our new president until he gave me reason not to, and he and his gargantually stupid staff have given me reason in spades, to wit: 1. Obama is dragging this country kicking and screaming into the third world by hinting at investigations and the criminal prosecution of his predecessor's staff and perhaps the former president himself. Tin horn dictators in banana republics do this sort of thing not presidents of the United States. But I will give this warning - Obama is opening a Pandora's box that will haunt him and his presidency. All glory is fleeting and this flawed man will not be president forever. Criminalizing politics is suicidal, as Obama will find out if continues down this foolish road. 2. Mrs. Cigar Willy hauls her fat ass before a House committee and is questioned by Dana Rohrbacher, who asks if she supports Vice President's Cheney call to release memos detailing the results of harsh interrogation. This stupid, cuckolded broad replies, "I don't think Dick Cheney has any credibility in this matter." (a paraphrase but an accurate one). Rohrbacker replies, "If you plan to have any credibility with this committee, you will answer the questions that are put to you. No one asked you about the former vice president." Well said, Mr. Rohrbacher. Who in his right mind would have asked this moronic, bitter woman to be secretary of state? 3. Obama's Director of National Intelligence, Dennis Blair, said that extreme interrogation methods resulted in "valuable information that gave us insight into Al Qaeda." One CIA report says that such methods worked, indeed thwarted "the second wave," a follow on to 911 that would have targeted Los Angeles. Fox News's Shepard Smith explodes when he hears this, hysterically pounding the desk and screaming, "I don't give a rat's ass if it worked! This is the United States of American! We do not fucking torture!" Welcome to Fox News, Otto. 4. Last week's tax day tea parties have the left hyperventilating. CNN's childish Anderson Cooper called them "tea bagging parties" and explained to his panel the sexual meaning of his callow term. Olbermann hyperventilated - as always - over the tea parties as did most of MSNBC. Here's why. Liberals know that political pendelums swing and that their time in power is temporary. But, until now, the GOP has been sort of swaying in the wind with no leader and no direction. The left sees these tea parties as event around which the Republican base can coalesce and identify new leadership - and they are terrified by this prospect. 5.
