Subject: Obituary Randy Pirnie
For those that knew Randy Pirnie, here is the obit from the Idaho
Statesman for Friday Januarry 9, 1998. I belive that Randy was a
Cowstail's seminarian as well.
Randall D. Pirnie
Randall D. Pirnie,48, passed away Sunday, Jan.4, 1998, at his home
in Idaho Falls. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am
Saturday, Jan. 10, at the Cloverdale Funeral Home, Boise, with
Rev. Stan Andrews officiating. Burial will follow in Cloverdale
Memorial Park, Boise. Services are under direction of Cloverdale
Funeral Home.
Mr Pirnie spent most of his youth in Morocco, Iran and Afghanistan,
returning to Boise to graduate f rom Capitol High School in 1967,
and from Boise State University with a B.A. degree
in social science in 1978.
Since the early 1970s, Mr. Pirnie has been an owner/operator of
various operations with the Business Enterprise Program of the
Idaho Commission for the Blind. Some of the locations in Boise
have included snack bars at H&W, BLM and the State Capitol
buildings as well as vending locations at the main and various
satellite branches of the U.S. Post Office. In 1992, Randall left
his beloved Boise to
operate vending operations in Idaho Falls in the Willow Creek and
EROB buildings, respectively.
Mr. Pirnie was a very active member of the National Federation of
the Blind. He served in various offices including vice president of
the NFB of Idaho and vice president of the Eastern
Chapter of the NFB. He attended the Cathedral of the Rockies, and
was a licensed member of the Eagle Rock Amateur Radio Club.
Mr Pirnie is survived by his daughter, Lucricia Merry Pirnie and
Mike Scharer three grandchildren, Echo Merry, Dana Scott and
Anthony John, of Idaho Falls, a sister of Tucson, Ariz.
Lucricia J. and David Whitmer; four nieces and nephews, Kevin S.
Pirnie Idaho Falls, Scott D. Pirnie of Dallas Texas, Carol R
Johnson of Symsberry Cnn., and Barbara C Wing Denver, Colo. Mr.
Pirnie was preceded in death by his parents, Claris D. Evelyn T.
Pirnie; and one brother, Gary D. Pirnie.
Memorials may be made to the NFB of Idaho, 1301 S. Capitol Blvd.,
Suite C, Boise 83706-2826.
