In a deposition submitted under oath, Andrew Cummins said:
AC> Biologically speaking, do you think the negro race has
AC> the ability to compete with whites without the benefit
AC> if preferential treatment?
BS> Of course. If I recall your previous anti-black stance, I'll
BS> wager you disagree.
AC> I'll note your failure to even attempt to provide
AC> evidence supporting your position.
I'll note your complete failure to ask for any. You asked a yes/no
question, and you got a yes/no answer. I'll further note your complete
failure to provide any of your own evidence. Don't try and tell me you
gave any evidence; whining about how much money and preferential
treatment the black community receives is *not* evidence of the black
man's ability nor lack thereof to compete and succeed.
BS> If so, what is your evidence?
AC> Annually, billions of dollars are transferred from the white
AC> community to the black community just through normal socialist
AC> programs (e.g. welfare and education). Billions of dollars more
AC> are transferred to blacks through race-based practices such as
AC> contract set-asides and racial preferences in hiring. And,
AC> billions of dollars are kept in the black community through
AC> race-based protectionist behavior.
AC> In spite of all that, blacks are still 2nd-rate citizens.
Actually, it is *because* of all the above that blacks, as a
community, are "2nd-rate" citizens (whatever you really mean by that).
The black "leaders" like Jesse Jackson, the NAACP, etc., who demand
preferential treatment and welfare money have become the new slave
masters of their own people by spoiling them and making them dependent,
and the white man in power is ever so happy to foot the bill, because
that gives them the black and liberal votes which keep them in power.
AC> What do you think would happen if we stopped all the preferential
AC> treatment and equally enforced anti-discrimination laws?
After the whining stopped, they would be forced to compete or sink
back even lower in status than they are now. Or they would revolt and
we'd have a civil war between blacks and whites.
AC> No doubt, there's plenty of white trash. But, by the criteria
AC> that earns a white man the label of "trash" there's a much greater
AC> proportion of blacks that meet that criteria.
Evidence?
AC> As for those
AC> hardworking blacks you speak of... I'm more concerned with the
AC> black community than with individuals.
There are separate communities of blacks, just as there are separate
white communities. If you lump all blacks as failures because you
perceive the "few" successful ones as exceptions, then you must view
the white communities the same, since you admit there is "plenty of
white trash."
AC> After all, we treat people according to their race. If you object
AC> to that, you have all of my support.
Of course I object to that. Martin Luther King Jr. and the whole
civil rights movement up to his death spoke of a colorblind society,
and that's the only solution that will result in true equality for all
men. This BS about the pendulum having to swing to the other side
before it can balance in the middle is just that; BS. We can stop it
in the middle now, and in fact, the existing non-affirmative action
laws are sufficient to do just that, if they were only enforced.
But these laws are worthless if no one will follow them. We have
sufficient laws to keep interstate traffic to a safe speed, but people
disobey them because their heart isn't behind the law. Same with
anti-discrimination laws. These laws will not affect change in our
society as long as there are anti-black bigots like you in charge of
things.
AC> BTW, the vast majority of well-known successful blacks have
AC> either benefited from Affirmative Action or their accomplishments
AC> so minor that they would be unknowns if white.
You seem to imply by that and all your other comments and questions
that this is a matter of biological and/or mental differences between
whites and blacks, rather than either cultural differences or a result
of 2-3 centuries of suppression. You have nothing but anecdotal
evidence - if even that - to support such a claim.
