The latest IBM USB Basic Device Driver Support dated 4/05/2004?
The usb printer support is older so you most likely have the most
current there.
I'm looking at my printer properties under the output port tab. It
shows LPT1,2,3, COM1,2,3,4, and \PIPE\LPD0. Below there's a button
"Install new port...". I clicked on that and it shows a USB icon and
allows me to install it. I did so and then the port is available in the
output ports as USB_PRINTER. I double-clicked on the icon and it gave
me the properties window, I then ckicked advanced and found what you
are saying. Except I don't have any printer attached to usb. Have you
tried the different "View Device" choices? Are you using the IEEE-1294
ID String choice which looks logical to me? Maybe double the read
Timeout ms? I'm lost past this. My guess is somehow the printer ID must
get past that usb converter for the driver to recognize it.

Wish I could be more help,
Franklin
