(one of) their name(s) is forced on to posts they upload... by "one of their names" i mean their real name or their nickname/handle depending on the message area and the BBS settings for that area... network QWK does not enforce the name to be one of the users' names... in any case, DOVE-NET traffic goes through a gateway site to get in to fidonet... for some reason, not all posts /from/ DOVE-NET make it through... i have no clue as to the problem but it has been happening for a long time... with all that said, i did see someone else's reply to the orginal post and those characters were converted in that reply so i suspect that it is something to do with the message base settings and the traditional 7bit ASCII thing that fidonet has had for so long... i've thought about maybe adding a QWK network to my main system but i don't have the software available and don't have the drive to develope it right now... the two other BBS packages running here do have QWK network capabilities so we might go that route but that remains to be seen... )\/(ark ...
