What I find striking is the mainstream presses's handling of an extremely
powerful image. Rather than print a real-time image of the raid, many (such
as exemplified on the cover of Time magazine) chose to run Greg Craig's
obviously staged rebuttal to that image.
At the very least, they could have run side-by-sides but instead have
decided to -- once again -- hang with the administration.
But who is really surprised? That is normal for the mainstream press, who
are willing to excuse ANY action by this administration.
What I am finding especially unusual in this case is the number of folks
(even in this forum) who would normally know better being snookered by
obvious spin as the Clinton machine would have us focus, with so many being
particularly vulnerable toward a natural inclination to believe in parental
rights (As a father of 5, I certainly can understand this tendency).
Nonetheless, this matter is NOT a Janet Reno/INS/fathers-rights issue as
those have all been manufactured as cover for a deeper dynamic that tends
to get lost in the distraction (as it was designed to do).
As someone who has intimately watched Clinton's MO for far too long now, my
radar is up big time. In fact, that is one of the reasons that I went from
an initial position of believing that the father had a fundamental right to
make a decision for his child, even if that included raising him in a
totalitarian environment, to realizing that Janet Reno and the father are
irrelevant to this particular dynamic. In which case, to fully understand
the current situation, they (along with the INS) need to be penciled out of
the equation and the focus directed to the players who are REALLY calling
the shots here... namely, Bill Clinton and Fidel Castro.
As victims of a frighteningly terrorist regime, the Miami Cuban community
understands this all to well. The press (and the left, in general) do to,
which is why they are now almost universally in denial-support mode.
Given the history of corruption with this administration (to say nothing of
Castro's brutalism over the past several decades), including finance
scandals of various sorts, major weapons technology transfers, rape, and ad
infinitum, my radar says that it behooves us to speculate what MAY be going
on under the hood. We may not find a definitive answer, but we can know one
thing for sure at this point... whatever it is NOT good for anyone... other
than Bill Clinton, of course. (with, perhaps, collateral benefit to a
murderous Fidel Castro).
