eComStation 1.2 together on the same network with WinXP Pro but recently
downgraded to Windows 98SE on the laptop I was running WinXP Pro on because
of the latest vault of security breaches with that OS. I am wondering if
anyone has had any luck networking with 98SE boxed for file and printer
sharing or not?
I have W3 server but it always seemed like overkill for a private
network. I have four boxes on a peer-to-peer. All run DOS, OS/2 and
W98SE. I have no app that needs anything beyond W98. W98SE "resists"
recognizing the other boxes. But after telling it several times to go
looking, it finally gets the message. Once the shares are setup it
works fine accessing boxes running OS/2 or W98.
