OK, you want just to play midi files on the notebook and play along. I
am looking at my T21 thinkpad's 14" TFT screen from the side and I seem
to be able to read it from about 70 degrees to the side. That would be
a 140 degree viewing area. Now what about a wireless vga to tv
converter that would send your vga signal anywhere to a TV, since many
places you go might have one you could hook to quite easily to increase
your viewing, otherwise it would depend on how many need to look at the
notebook screen and how far off to the side some would end up (within
the 140 degrees).

Take a look at this converter and see what you think.

If you cannot make the above link work, go to www.tigerdirect.com and
search wireless tv.

As for a thinkpad T20 go to www.pricewatch.com. Search "Thinkpad T2",
which should show 6 pages. Go to page 6, the first best deal I see is
$500.92 shipping included. There are cheaper listed, won't include the
CD/DVD drive which is a must have. I can tell you this thinkpad will
run ECS11 which is easy to install, OS/2 is hard to install unless you
use all floppies (a million of them), the drivers are available at
ibm.com, it has a crystal sound system that will play midi, and to me
is the one that is most likely to do what you ask.

Good luck,
Franklin
