Hi Nancy,
NB> NB>> Makes sense... the Amish ones were probably closer to the having

NB> ;)
RH> From the orchard to us.
NB> As I figured... :) And picked at peak....
And held for several days before putting up. We probably should have
bought them the day we left. But, they'll still taste good this winter.
NB> NB>> Did Steve take the bad ones back to Harris Teeter....?
RH> No, just added them to the compost bucket.
NB> I might have wanted to let them know that they were that bad, in case
NB> they cared....
Yes, but we had other things to take care of, and my fall/break threw us
out of sorts for a few days.
NB> RH>> Yes, some of the things we did this year were a direct result of
NB> what RH>> we learned--our shopping and going ahead of the rest of the
NB> team for RH>> instance. They appreciated having a meal ready for them
NB> upon arrival. RH>> (G)
NB> NB>> I'm sure they did... :) One less thing to have to think about
NB> NB>> when one is zonked from traveling... ;)
RH> I understood that they did the last 2.5 hours with no breaks. The
RH> group sort of stretched out, unwound, etc for about 20 minutes before
RH> we served supper. They unwound some more by doing the clean up
RH> afterward, before going down to Barre for maple creemees.
NB> Sounds quite pleasant.... :)
Nice to have the clean up done for us, and the chance to sit & visit
with those not needed for the clean up. Getting creemees the first night
in VT is traditional as we understand.
