Hi, Gary.
*** Quoting Gary Weinfurther from a message to Louis Rizzuto ***
GW> Louis Rizzuto mentioned this to Gary Weinfurther:
GW>> I use Forehelp, from ForeFront, Inc. It's fantastic!
LR> What is the contact information on this product Gary? Web site would be
LR> great.
GW> Forefront's phone number is (303) 499-9181.
This is much appreciated. Thanks.
LR> How does it compare to MS's Winhelp.exe and their other help editors?
GW> I didn't know WinHelp was a help editor. AFAIK, it's just the
GW> presentation system. Forehelp is completely WYSIWYG and allows you
GW> to test your help project without having to go through the long, slow
GW> process of compiling your help file.
GW> I have created help files using a word processor and the MS help
GW> compiler. That was a nightmare compared to Forehelp.
If I remember correctly, winhelp.exe is refered to as a 'help compiler',
however MS supplies two other apspp and one is called 'shed.exe' and is
refered to as a 'hot spot' editor. The other is a something like MSBN.exe -
is suppose to be some kind of 'bit map' editor or something. Not sure hjow
any of this works together at this point.
Sorry to hear winhelp.exe is a night mare. It may become mine. Also glad
there is an alternative - forhelp. Thanks.
