Last month when I saw Your message I took a look at their eBay store.
Today when I read Mark Hofmann's message I took a look at their web page(s).
The Home Page has an drawing of a piece of their SB Series Amateur Radio gear.
I clicked one Link and it took me to their shop.heathkit.com page where about
a dozen products were listed.
I didn't see any Ham Radio products there, but there was a Link to buy some
Heath-Kit Assembly Manuals.
Heath use to sell their Assembly Manuals for 25 Cents (USD), and I bought a
lot of them, so I could read the discription of the electronic circuits,
look at the Drawings and Schematic so I might learn something about
electronics.
Those books got down to the nitty-gritty about all the details they designed
into their product(s).
IMHO those books were HIGH QUALITY Training Manuals about Electronics! and
some of them were very thick books, with lots of information in them.
Last month when I looked at their eBay page I remember seeing lots of Kits
for sale and also lots of already built (used?) Heathkit products.
When I saw the price for an already built AA-32 Stereo 30 Watt (15W/15W)
Hi-Fi Amplifier my jaw dropped.
I remember that Kit sold for just under $40.00 USD when I bought mine back in
the 1960's.
I had to replace one tube in the P-P output circuit of one channel, so I
replaced all four of those tubes with 2 sets of Mullard Matching Pair tubes.
I clicked on the Contact Link and saw the Company is in California now.
I will ocassionally take a look at their web page(s) to see if any of their
products makes me want to heat up the soldering iron/gun to put it together.
Thanks for sharing the URL in this echo.
