(( QUOTING = From: John Mork To: Mark Harrison ))
Hello John,
JM> I run tfw1.15c. In the script sub file, there are about 140
JM> scripts, and many of these came with the software (I think).
JM> How can I look at them and tell if they're necessary to keep?
You can view the *.SLT files with any text editor or view program
including the script editor that came with TFW. The SLT file is
the uncompiled source code. I think the ones that came with TFW
have notes in them so you can see what they do.
JM> 'Nother Q. Whenever I use the recorder while going to a bbs
JM> and then, subsequently run the compiler, I end up with three
JM> versions of the file, a .slt, a .bak, and a .slc. Is it
JM> necessary to keep those prior files, or are they superfluous?
The only one that is used is the *.SLC file. It is the compiled
version. You will need the *.SLT file if you ever want to edit
the script and recompile. The BAK is just a backup of one of the
files. I do not use the built in script learner so I'm not sure
what one it is. I use my own RFW (Record For Windows) to make TFW
logon scripts.
