Hi Nancy,
NB> RH>> Yes, we loaded the peaches picked up in Pa into it to keep them
NB> RH>> from going bad. They were quite ripe, had to trim the bad spot
NB> here RH>> & there while putting them up but not too much lost,
NB> thankfully.
NB> NB>> Kept them cool, but couldn't totally protect against bruising,
NB> I'd NB>> guess... :)
RH> Not quite, given how ripe they were.
NB> That's what I figured.... :)
We couldn't even save any out for eating "asis", they were that ripe.
Steve bought 4 at Harris Teeter last week--one was totally bad when he
cut it open, next was heading toward bad. Third was good & 4th is still
in the fridge. The Amish ones were so much better!
NB> NB>> I'm not at all surprised... :) Lots of experience on many
NB> levels NB>> of food shopping, both bulk and not.... and of knowing
NB> how much
NB> NB>> to get and whether something is a bargain or not... :)
RH> The store brand (Hanniford's) is of a decent quality; we had no qualms
RH> about buying a lot of that. Some things we had to get name brands but
RH> tried to keep that to a minimum. We went with a better grade of ground
RH> beef to avoid a lot of waste from fat--all in all, shopping the way we
RH> did was much better than the way we did it last year.
NB> And this year you had the benefit of last year's experience... :)
Yes, some of the things we did this year were a direct result of what we
learned--our shopping and going ahead of the rest of the team for
instance. They appreciated having a meal ready for them upon arrival.

NB> NB>>> I never needed any more cards... probably still have some
NB> NB>>> tucked away somewhere......
NB> RH>> I've needed new ones every time we've moved. (G)
NB> NB>> As long as the phone number didn't change, you might have been
NB> NB>> able to keep using the old... ;) But if you put your address
NB> NB>> on there too... yeah, that changes...... ;)
RH> We had just a land line when I got my first couple of sets of cards.
RH> Once I got a cell phone, that number went on instead (and has changed
RH> several times). I've always put my address on them so yes, that has
RH> made for a change in cards several times. I've only done a major change
RH> in design once tho, in close to 20 years.
NB> Why mess with a good thing, after all... ;)
True. (G)
