AD> the difference hails NOT in the HPFS, but in some of the newly
AD> released Linux software. HOWEVER, that is not the impression that I
 AD> recall.

I saw this message posted in I don't know how many areas but felt it would
best be answered here.

AD> My sole intent was to merely alert
AD> those of us that share interest in both os' to the potential for
AD> sudden and severe catastrophe of NOT being able to
"see" the OS/2
AD> HPFS side (partition) of you system if you were to upgrade to the
 AD> new Warp v3.0.

I don't think you would see that happen. Any changes to the file system
and or file system API would have to be 100% backwards compatible.

AD> This, of course, has no effect on anyone that is NOT running Linux.
AD> If in fact there have been some long awaited changes (improvements)
AD> in the OS/2 HPFS, then kudos go to IBM.

Improvements in what way?

David
