Fergit what I said in the last message. I got to playing around with things here and tested menu option 38 (view text file) to see if it'd solve your prob and the dang thing worked! What I did was to create a dummy dir in my files area, made a small txt file, imported the file w/ Ezyadopt, and then created a menu with option 40 to display the ANSI/ASCII menu screens and option 38 for the text file display. Both options have to have automatic set to Y for this to work. Formatting is a bit weird though. The only way to abort the process is to press enter at the prompt, but with a comment at the bottom of the menu telling the user to do this, and then what key to press to get back to the main menu, I think you'll be in business. The nice part about it is the user -has- to type in the filename! You can use .EXTs on the data files or not (heh, I didn't.. :), so these files you want to display can have up to an 8 digit alpha/numerical filename. Also noted that the 'More Y/N' prompt showed on a test where I called the backbone.na file from the prompt, but then I have that turned on for my account, so anyone who has it off might get a lesson in speed reading. BTW, put the user security for the area at 1 higher than Sysop and the bulletin dir -won't- show on file area scans, but the users will *still* be able to access the file(s).
