Thanks for that, I'll give you a call if I have trouble testing it myself.
I am going to use EXEC, and I am going to log on using my slow modem.  But
I thought I'd pre-announce it in case anything did go wrong.  Saturday
night is best because I have Sunday to fix anything, and STD rates are
cheapest then if the worst comes to the worst.  I'm thinking of only ever
making changes on Saturday night, and pre-announcing them.  I was hoping to
never make any changes at all, but I have to make them just to try to get
the system stable!  Hopefully SIO will stop my computer hanging.  What
would be nice is a switch to enable SIO to automatically hang up the modem
if more than x K characters come in within 5 seconds of getting the
connect.

And the priority increase should mean that another task will never
interfere with the COMMS.  BFN.
