Worked again this morning.  Nope, haven't done anything.  Same 3 tasks are
still running.  I've done a lot of reboots recently, so it could be that I
haven't been into sidekick yet.  I'll try delaying going into sidekick and
see if the problem occurs after I go into sidekick.  BFN.
