Since you seem to think the HP OEM CD is one of the culprits, I may be
able to help.   Have you compared the contents of the WIN98 directory on
your HP OEM CD with the directory I posted here some days back?  If they
differ a lot, I _may_ just swap with you - - I have here a Win98FE
Upgrade version - with COA and product key, which is surplus to my
needs.
