Hi Raymond,
Raymond Lau to Paul Walker, 17 May 97 16:26.
PW>> infected files is only useful if your scanner cannot clean
PW>> the viruses properly. If this is the case, then you should be
RL> Only if the scanner is 100% perfect , but nothing is 100% perfect.
If the scanner can identify the virus, then generally, if it's not an
overwriting virus, they can repair it. TbClean goes one further and cleans
viruses it's never met before - not with 100% success always, I'd imagine,
ut
certainly on the simple ones.
RL> Yer, but all you know about virus is how to program trojan that format
 Wrong.
RL> someone's drive, but can you make a virus that change the access date
RL> of file or virus that moves from files to files, I guess not. So shut
Erm - yes, actually. And I have done so - but it won't ever be released.
RL> into the directory, you will even find a file call unformat, so do you
RL> think it's possible to a virus to come back to life now?
If you deliberately go and retrieve the file or disk it infected, then the
virus will come back with it - but that's not the virus restoring itself in
any
way, shape, or form.
