That is certainly true. Quite some time ago a traveling exhibit came to one
of the museums here. It was called World War Two through Russian Eyes. If
it ever comes near you go and see it. It was a remarkable exhibit. Russia
lost 26 million people in WWII. That number includes the Russians who were
killed when Hitler invaded Russia. It's a given that Stalin was a power mad
lunatic, but his army was a force to be admired.
