JO> Please tell me this is a joke! I thought it was...at
JO> first...Now I wish I'd saved the file, at least for the bill
JO> number.
RB> We could use that billnumber, hon.
Yep, I shoulda at least kept that. At the time I thought it was
really either a huge joke...or if not, we'd sure be hearing about it.
Either way I figured it would be getting around more. Evidently no
news means it was a joke...it really is one of the kind that makes
you go "Hmmmm?", isn't it? If we didn't have insane people in
government, the insane would immediately be seen for what it is.
JO> Has anyone else heard about Owlgore's latest masterpiece? It
JO> would appear he's pushed the "highway" in Information Highway
JO> so much that there is a bill in the Senate to make it illegal
JO> to use alcohol while on public networks? They even added a cute
JO> provision so that bbs's would be included in this. The FBI
JO> would be able to wire-tap your line to catch you, and evidently
JO> possession of a beer and a modem would technically be all the
JO> probable cause needed.
RB> Great. So much for Constitutional guarantees regarding being
RB> secure in our homes and documents (electronic or otherwise).
It's just GOT to be a joke, but then again, they haven't exactly been
that strict about adhering to the Constitution lately, have they?
It is spooky that our government does so many horrid things that we
can almost believe they would do *anything*. I tend to expect the
worst so I won't be disappointed...but I still can't stay cynical
enough for this bunch in DC!
... Congress is going to dissolve us and vote in a new people.
