Washington Co was that way. Although the richest county in IL due to oil, 
they paid poorly. Was treated like a person by all, population was German and 
Polish farmers with a work ethic and little racial diversity.
352? square miles of country, $900 a month and farmers leaving baskets of 
corn andd maters in drive. Lived on thepast the end of the hard road and was 
end of electricity. My preferable way of living but not a very viable place 
to bring up kids for much more than a farming life.It would have been selfish 
of me to stay there but it kept the wolves away from the door.
Some small 4 wheeler pursuits , dv and a couble of drug inv, not even a lot 
of thefts.
The experience was valuable n that for that year I experienced peace and no 
life fights" then up to chicago.
btw used uniforms and own weapons. Co supplied car andstarted and ended 
shhift at home and handled night callout...very rare.
