How about trying S9=5 sometime in the future, because from what I've seen,
my modem is always happy that the connect and protocol negotiation have
gone ahead as planned, whilst yours doesn't agree.  You put it down to line
noise, that's why I want you to try at 14400 without error correction, and
see how many Zmodem errors you get (my guess is none, as was the case when
we did the test with Telix - clean as a whistle).

Perhaps you're getting confused with my (it seems) lack of CTS/RTS support
on one of my COM ports.
