And will always be thus.  People naturally want "something for
nothing" and are willing to suspend all rational thought when it
looks like just such a thing may be available.
It's like my AV program, which will detect any virus infection in any
file, with no need for updates of any kind.  It works 100%, but is
useless to me.  I can't sell it, because then people would see _how_
it works, and the market would be flooded with different products
which did the same thing.  I don't plan on releasing it for just that
reason - I see no need to allow others to profit from my efforts.
Besides, the last guy with a "you never need to upgrade" AV product
got drummed out of the echo.  (No, mine doesn't work in the same way
his does (or didn't - pick one). :-)
