subject: Game 2: Braves 4 - Yankees 0!

The Braves have just went up 2-0 following a 4-0 victory over the Yankees in
Game 2. Unlike Game 1's slugfest, this time the Braves scored one run in
five different innings, playing "small ball" instead of "long ball."
The Braves have now won five straight postseason games by a combined score of
48-2. My Braves' bias notwithstanding, that is PHENOMINAL.
I felt Maddux pitched well in NLCS Game 6, but clearly not at his best.
Tonight was more vintage Maddux. Everything down and on the corners. Only
one fly ball out, and that was on a line drive to McGriff. So the only thing
hit into the air to the outfield was the bloop double by O'Neill, that was
actually an excellent pitch off the hands and O'Neill just inside-outted it.
Give him credit for hitting a good pitch.
No putouts or assists by a Braves outfielder. Wow!
Fred McGriff, despite having a postseason "slump" had three RBI to give him
15 for this postseason, a new all-time record (of course, this is only the
second year with three rounds). In any case, Fred is hitting the ball well,
and is having no problem with lefties.
Unlike Pendleton, who is having problems with lefties and righties. His
double was clearly a gift. That was an error all the way. It will be nice
to get rid of the DH and get him back on the bench where he belongs.
Didn't Yankees fans say there would be no Tomahawk Chop in THTRB? Just what
WAS that chant I heard? It sounded awfully familiar. :^)
Tomorrow night back in the Chop Shop, Glavine vs. Cone!
