Thanks again. I think I may have yet another problem here, because I did a
search on all my hard drives and had no loopback.anything except for a few
text files describing how to wire serial/parallel loopback plugs.
I suspect not running a LAN here is the main problem - the required file(s)
just didn't get installed.

It seems to work quite well here, for the Internet stuff, but my mailer pukes
and as I (already mentioned), VMODEM won't start up.
Be advised that SIO 2.0 is a *new* program! I think you can determine what
that means for yourself! :^) Having used 1.x, and depended on it for so
long, I have no problem with that, but would suggest that anyone who has used
it for as long as I have register another copy to get a later serial number -
I did last nite.
If anyone is interested, I'll post the text that pertains to this from the
beta readme file.
