Is anybody paying sales tax?

AMD DX4-100 CPUs are $175 + tax (22%), wholesale from my regular
distributor, while an OPTi motherboard is $125 + tax (22%), from numerous
distributors in Melbourne. I have two of the motherboards here and have
used others and find them to be very good. But that's $300 before tax; at
22%, that's $366 before profit off the top of my head.

Possibly cheaper with an Intel chip. But you get what you pay for.. :-)

Note that I'm not actually offfering to sell you (or anyone) the above; I
don't sell these things regularly. My quotes are just to point out that if
you really can buy this board for $360, somebody is stealing from the
government, and if not, it's a fairly rude bargaining tactic.
