Could be, but in the Kenai River (and else where) they can be fairly large. I
know people who initially thought they'd caught a Red (aka Sockeye) and had it
turn out to be a Rainbow, won't go into the woman who "caught" a Loon. They'd
also made the same mistake with Dolly Varden. Stuff "rainbow" and "kenai
river" into goggle and they start talking about 10lb fish. My FIL caught a
14-16" one in it, charter, I caught about a 35lb King (aka Chinook). Both were
to small to even weigh. I've got pictures if anybody wants to see.
Having said that, when I lived in Colorado I spent a lot of time up close to
treeline catching teenie-tiny rainbows and brookies on steams of the same
dimensions using a fly rod (I have 4 ranging from 6' to 9'). Lots of fun, bent
the barb down, and turned the fish loose (it's not like I'd eat one!) Did some
of that here, at a much lower altitude, caught some in the 10-12" range
(wouldn't have a clue about how much they weighed). Some of the streams on the
Kenai Peninsula just opened on the 1st, I may do some trout fishing next week
since I'll be heading back that way. Got about 6 weeks before I have to
winterize the place down there.

have neither good plumbing nor good philosophy... neither its pipes nor
