-> WC>I don't understand this either unless he lacks a hardware modem. -> WC>Just setting up the dialer takes 2 minutes. -> WC>As I've the modem on COM 1 on my RS-232 serial port I select ttyS0, -> WC>name a user account ( Verizon), provide the number for the ISP, -> WC>plug in user name and password and I'm surfing. -> Wel in my case it Detected the model on setup just fine and correctly -> as far as model etc. But when I tried to use it is said NO modem -> connected. As does mine if I don't stipulate ttyS0 as the serial port in the KPPP dialer. Could you have missed this minor point? I had to set that parameter in the account I'd setup as the modem test routine did not. Prior to setting the COM port to COM 1 ( ttyS0) I got the same no modem found message. COM 1 is my serial port. ttyS1 would be COM port 2, ttyS2 COM 3, ect. --- Platinum Xpress/Win/WINServer v3.0pr5* Origin: Try Our Web Based QWK: DOCSPLACE.ORG (1:123/140) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 123/140 500 106/2000 633/267 |
