When I had a 14.4 internal Zoom, it did NOT disconnect the output jack.  In
fact, I could pick up the headset and hear the ringing of the BBS I was
calling.  My USR courier, however, does disconnect the output jack.  Now 
e'll
see if Roland's newer Zoom disconnects.
For what it's worth, I have one caller that ALWAYS connects at 31200 or 
3600.
As far as I recall, Roland has never been able to get a 33.6 connection here.
That fact is the basis for his questions concerning connect speed.  Since he
does not transfer large files, the 10% differential is more a curiosity than
anything else (in my opinion).
