  To have a private data space for a DLL, ensure that you are using DATA
  MULTIPLE NONSHARED (which I believe is the default for most linkers).
  For DLLs written in C++, you must ensure that the C++ RTL is initialised
  correctly in every process, which means using INITINSTANCE.
