My fiance's brother's now living in Chariton, but we made quite a
few trips to Osky when he was living there.  The Iowa DOT's in the
process of transforming 163 into a freeway, but the only part of
it that's now 4-lane (other than that east out of Des Moines) is a
stretch around Pella.  They were doing right of way grading south
from Monroe and north of Osky the last time we were down that way;
and I don't know what the timetable is for the whole project.
