123c5455a06c tech Hello Wayne - WC>>> I usually junked them out too. Too ethical to pass on WC>>> what may have become a dangerous or unreliable vehicle. ->> I have those thoughts as well. On the one hand the cars are ->> old and getting dangerous to drive but on the other hand ->> mine are taken care of and less dangerous than any other ->> car of comparable age that a person might buy if I refuse ->> to sell them mine. I know, sounds like a conundrum. WC> I can make claims about the safety of motorcycles I've WC> owned but I never much got too deep into automotive WC> mechanics so for them I was at the mercy of professional WC> mechanics. WC> If professional car mechanics are anything like their WC> motorcycle equivalents it ain't good. No it's not good at all. I took my Lincoln to a local mechanic and told him "This is a heavy car and it HAS to stop when I hit the brakes". My brakes had gone out (to the floor) and I wanted that to NOT happen again. I did not set a price nor ask for 'cheap'. I got the car back and two weeks later driving home the same thing happened _again_. I was furious but remained calm when I returned the car and was told he had replaced everything _but_ the rear cylinders which were both leaking fluid (profusely). I instructed him to replace the cylinders, bill me for the parts, but no additional labor which he did. So far the brakes have been working but now I'm 'gun-shy' with very little confidence the brakes will continue to work. > > , , > o/ Charles.Angelich \o , > __o/ > / > USA, MI < \ __\__ --- * ATP/16bit 2.31 * ...
