Good C++ Compiler's a cool scene. Dig it!

  Watcom. But don't get version 11, it's full of bugs and silly
inconsistencies, by all acounts. I don't think you can get an earlier
version directly from Watcom, but you may find a second hand one. I
have version 10.6, and it's very good. The only things I'd complain
about are documentation (all in so called "help" files) and support
from Watcom.
