fwiw: You aparently missed messages where I mentioned that I
have two Linux installs on another machine. Probably not _your_
'distro' but they are both working Linux installs. 

I've also installed and rewritten parts of OBERON to get it to
connect to the internet. Have you installed OBERON on your
machine? S'matter chicken?

Sure. Once you are 'rooted' the hackers can install/modify your
system to be anything they want it to be.
