Boy, that's a lot of questions in a few sentences ;) Anyway, it's been a
while since I wrote a help file. I have done using an RTF capable word
processor such as word (pain in the behind). I have also tinkered with some
shareware and commercial programs. I liked VBAHA when I was using Visual
Basic, but haven't need to create any help files recently. I think if you are
going to write a big help file or lot's of help files, you should check into
the commercial products. They all seem to be quite different in ease of use
and how they work. I'd look around and see if you can check out some demos to
see what you like. With a good program, you can whip out simple help pretty
quickly. Help files are a pain if you don't have good tools, so you'll have
to weigh that one yourself based on the tools you look at.
Sorry I couldn't be more help in this area. I just don't have the need to do
big help files right now.
Steve
