JS> "luser's" that help each othr all the time. Justin told you your SIO
JS> line normally works for about everyone
He was the one that said I didn't want to be helped. I gave him, and the rest
of the OS2 mob, MANY chances to do just that. None of it was helpful. All I
got was "It works for me" and obvious things to try (like 'Check your command
line' or 'try going through the setup program again'). Nowhere was there
anyone
that was willing to part with actual technical information that might help
with the problem.
JS> can't get your system to work... typical I suspect.
I got Windows to work didn't I? Since you claim that Windows is so unstable,
it must be a pretty mean feat for someone to make it as stable as I have.
JS> I personally don't think you will ever get OS/2 to work right for
JS> *you*.
I can. But I do not want to put the effort required into an OS that just
simply does not offer me anything I want, that I don't have. OS2 is overkill
on everything I don't want or need, and insufficient on what I do need.
JS> Took me one whole day, or at least a part of it, to get my system
JS> working flawlessly, why are YOU having such a hard time?
I suspect that it's just average hardware. I'm not going to buy a $300 33k6
modem just so OS2 is happy. A $100 one works great for Windows (no, not a
Winmodem). It's not my fault if OS2 and/or SIO/X00 can't handle it.
JS> is junk, by design. You won't get OS/2 to suddenly be junk because
JS> *YOU* can't get it to work as designed, either.
The work assigned to OS2 is crap to perform, crap to maintain, and the output
is crappier than any half-decent Windows application.
Windows is nicer to use, easier to maintain, and the output is of much higher
presentation quality than anything I've seen OS2 pump out so far.
