well I have discovered a few things since I left the last message, I have
forced my connect to 31200 and I no longer hang. I believe my problem and
maybe yours was that my serial port on my computer (or the computer itself)
cannot handle speeds above 31200. I found my old service provider only had
288 modems, the new service provider has 33.6 + so when I connected at 33600
my computer could only handle the fast speed only so long, then get jumbled
up and eventually hang or drop carrier. I do still get the odd drop carrier
tho only if I am running several internet applications at one time (ie
browser, ftp, irc) other than that thing have been going smoothly for me.
I would check the max serial speed on your system, it may be the source of
all your problems.
