TM>Hmm, I thought that it resetted the note playing, ie: it would go TM>through the ADSR loop again? I could be wrong. Don't think so. I'm pretty sure I set the attack/decay to 0, so it just turned the note off. TM>Hmm. Have you tried this on a new SID? That feature/bug might no longer TM>be in service... No, havent actually. It could work, god knows what else they have changed on the new sids. Will get back to you on that one (: TM>Well, that ain't so hard. Search through the code for a STA $D418, and TM>find out where it's getting that value from. Most SIDplayers will have TM>an ORA before it, to put the volume level and the filter level in TM>together. All you need to do is put this exact code into your sample TM>player. Yeah true, not too hard I suppose, unless there are more than one $d418 'poke'. Well as you seem to be the sid player expert, why dont you go through some of the common ones & find them out? (-: TM>I have them seperate, as sometimes I don't which to lose any code TM>that's in the drive... ie: when I was testing my IRQ loader, I would TM>send something to the drive, reset the computer, then look at drive TM>memory via the AR monitor. Cool, well I doubt I'll do that much, so it doesnt affect me. I can always just cut the wire (: Could even put in a toggle switch to make it nice & flexible. TM>I'm considering putting another 24 LED's in to reflect the status of TM>the Address and Data busses... Though I think all I'll get are TM>flickering lights :D. Also, a few switches for ROMH, ROML, GAME, IO/1, TM>IO/2 etc. Yes, I think all you will see are lots of lights that appear to be on continuously, unless your eye can catch things that are changing at a million times a second (-: As for ROMh etc, you might as well make a cart daughterboard, and put all that stuff on. TM>Oh yea of little faith... ;) Well, considering Epic has been 'almost finished' for literally 1 1/2 years, I have reason to be skeptical (: (sp?). Thank god TBH cant read this echo, else I'd be a dead man (-: TM>Ok, it's not well documented, and I only have JCH's V15 (I think), and TM>DMC 1.2 (or 1.3 if you include my mods :). I reassembled them myself. Source doesnt really worry me, its more -how- the different effects work, and what they are. The ultimate would be to create a player which includes all known effects (well all the ones worth using anyway). One effect I havent heard much is a slow pulse width sweep, ie one that takes about 5 or 6 seconds to do one cycle. you here this kind of effect in many techno tracks (ie real ones, not sid!). TM>Well, I'd like that actually. I want a good player, and none of the TM>ones I have cut it... I might do a simple track/pattern player soon, just for samples. As there are practically no effects you can do with a sample, all it is is 2 bytes - sample #, and pitch. Might make the high bits of the sample # represent 'loop' (note stays on), and possibly 'vibrato' (about the only effect you could to with a sample, ie sweep the frequency up & down). The loop isnt too hard, the replay NMI routine instead of turning the note off when it reaches the end, just restarts it. Anyway, will work on that one.. In fact you could probably use the whole high nibble of the sample # for effects, as you are not likely to have more than 16 samples per cannel (samples eat memory) TM>Ok, but let's try and finish it first, eh? =) Hey look! An actual TM>Menace Utility! Yeah, well as you say, we have to finish it first (: If we can make the sid & digi patterns 'compatible' then you have it made. TM>Eeek! What a mess! Oh well, not exactly what I'd call FTP, but hey... Yeah, well I'm not going to do it unless I am truly desperate, and its a file I just HAVE to have. I've subscribed to 'hacking' mag, hopefully that will work ok. (as long as it is sent in a message as text, its not a problem - limit for messages is 2million or something chars (: ) cya, Strobe/Menace --- Ezycom V1.10g1 00f90038* Origin: WOW BBS - Commodore Suport, Sydney's West (3:713/888) SEEN-BY: 50/99 54/54 623/630 640/316 711/807 808 809 929 934 712/623 713/317 SEEN-BY: 713/700 805 888 714/906 @PATH: 713/888 54/54 711/808 809 934 |
