subject: carrier dropped

PE>This morning you dropped carrier on the main menu. Did you
PE>hit the wrong button or did Maximus hit the wrong button?
PE>Next time you log on, could you try pressing "A" in the
PE>main menu (after you've downloaded your QWK packet) and see
PE>what it does? Thanks + bye.

Hi Paul
I noticed this happen and re-dialed after 5 minutes. I was using a
script during the first dropped carrier and used the same script
unchanged during the next successful connection. Pretty sure nothing
changed in between. It could quite possibly have been the antique
exchange at this end or this wonky Smartmodem2400

Cheers,
Alan.
